Equipment

  • Kitchen shears

  • Small saucepan

  • Baking sheet

  • Parchment paper or baking dish

  • Basting brush

Ingredients

  • 4 lobster tails

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

1

Lit the Fire

Preheat oven to 425°F
2

Prepare the Lobster Shell

Using kitchen shears, cut down the top of the lobster shell lengthwise from the meatier end to the tail fin. Be careful not to cut into the meat.
3

Lifting and Presenting the Lobster Meat

Gently pull the shell apart and lift the lobster meat out, resting it on top of the shell, still attached at the tail end. This helps it cook evenly and gives it an attractive presentation.
4

Melting the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
5

Sautéing the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
6

Mixing the Seasonings

Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
7

Arranging the Lobster Tails

Place the prepared lobster tails on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in a baking dish.
8

Basting the Lobster Tails

Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the lobster meat, making sure to coat all the exposed areas well.
9

Baking the Lobster Tails

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and slightly firm to the touch. The internal temperature should reach 140°F.
10

Basting Midway for Extra Flavor

Baste the lobster with more garlic butter halfway through the cooking time for extra flavor.
11

Resting the Cooked Lobster Tails

Once cooked, remove the lobster tails from the oven and let them rest for a couple of minutes
12

Garnishing and Serving

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
