Parmesan-Crusted Baked Halibut Delight

Ingredients:

  • 4 halibut fillets (6-8 oz each)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Oven and Baking Dish:
    Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.

  2. Prepare the Halibut Fillets:
    Pat the halibut fillets dry using paper towels. Season each side with a pinch of salt and pepper. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet or dish.

  3. Mix the Parmesan Crust:
    In a medium bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil, and lemon zest. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly incorporated and the texture is slightly crumbly.

  4. Crust the Halibut:
    Spoon and gently press the Parmesan mixture onto the top of each halibut fillet, creating an even crust. Ensure the crust adheres well to the fish by pressing it down lightly.

  5. Bake the Halibut:
    Place the baking sheet or dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-18 minutes, or until the halibut is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. The crust should be golden brown and crispy.

  6. Serve:
    Remove the halibut from the oven and let it rest for a minute. Transfer the fillets to serving plates and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra burst of citrus flavor.

Serving Suggestions:
